Twine Pumpkins & Romantic Country

Hello!

Happy Autumn! As it is now officially autumn, I wanted to share some exciting news. My little twine pumpkin project made its way into the Autumn 2013 edition of Romantic Country Magazine!

For those of you who have been crafting and blogging much more seriously than me, it may not seem like that big of a deal, but to a crazy busy fourth year medical student such as myself, it was quite the honor!

Check out the full tutorial here:

Let me know if you try it out. I'd love to see pictures!

Bucket List: Mingle

A little while back, a new restaurant came to Albany, and we hadn't gotten around to trying it out. On a spontaneous date night, we headed to Mingle and it did not disappoint.
We started with the Portuguese Clams which were neck clams served in a sauce of white wine, garlic, jalapeno peppers, and scallions. I felt like I could eat them forever - like one little clam every 10 seconds or so, for pretty much eternity. My mouth is watering now as I reminisce!

Next, we shared the Pan Fried Yakimando. These little dumplings were stuffed with chicken, ricotta cheese, soy bean sprouts, scallions, and napa cabbage. Obviously the presence of the veggies qualified these little guys as "healthy" in my mind. The honey-soy ginger sauce was perfect for dipping. Finally, we had the chef's special Clam Fritters. So much clam in one bite! Talk about delicious!

That's one item off our bucket list. We'll definitely be back here before we leave Albany!
